Programs to Generate More Business

Reaching out to clients you recently worked with

Once you’ve finished a project with a client, you’ll want to make sure you consistently keep in touch. These recent past clients may need your services again in the future or may recommend you to a friend. Staying top of mind is critical to generating more sales.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:



STEP 1: CREATE THE PROGRAM

    • Click on the Programs tab at the top of your account.

  • Hover over Add Program, select New Program,  and name it “Past Client (Recent)”. Press Enter.
  • (Optional) Add a Goal for the Program.

STEP 2: CREATE A TASK

You will want to remind yourself to call your past client to check in.

    • Select +New Step.

    • For the time frame, under Delay (Days) choose 14 days.
    • Select Custom Task under Action.
    • Type in “give a call to check in – past client” as the Task Title. 2program3
    • Check “Restart waiting period if we talk in between”.
This “Restart waiting period if we talk in between” feature will give you the option to pause the action if you’re already in communication with the contact. The action will only be triggered once you have not spoken to the contact in a certain amount of time.
      • Select +New Step to begin the next step in the Program.


STEP 3: ADD ON SOCIAL MEDIA

It’s always a good idea to be connected with your clients on social media. Whether it’s Facebook or LinkedIn, choose a site that you frequently post on. That way, the client can see your posts and be reminded of your good work.

    • Choose 5 days as the time frame. Your name is still fresh in your past client’s mind since you recently called them.
    • Select Custom Task.
    • Under Task Title type “Follow on (Social Media of your choosing).”

    • Because the invitation is more of a ‘soft touch’ go ahead and uncheck both “Restart waiting period if we talk in between.” 
    • Select +New Step.


STEP 4: ASK FOR A REFERRAL

The best way to get a referral is to ask for one!

    • Choose 30 days as the time frame. Asking for a referral after 30 days of a project completion is a good time frame.
    • Select Send Message. Choose the “Past Client – Ask for Referral” template.

    • Choose the time and email address accordingly.
    • Select any Tracking options you would like.
    • Check “Require my approval before executing”. It’s always a good idea to review your emails before they go out.
This “Require my approval before executing” feature will allow you to approve/deny the action prior to execution. You will see the prompt on your dashboard. If you choose to approve the action (i.e. an email to be sent) you will still get another chance to review/edit the email before it goes out. If you choose deny, the program step will skip and the contact continue onto the next step.
    • Uncheck “Restart waiting period if we talk in between”. Since this template is independent of other conversations, it can go out at any time.
    • Select +New Step.


STEP 5: CHECK IN 90 DAY LATER

To continue to stay top of mind, check in with your past client after 90 days.

    • Chose 90 days as the time frame. You want to make sure you are checking back in with the client even after the project has been completed.
    • Select to Send Message. Choose the “Past Client – 90 Day check-in” template.

    • Choose the time and email address accordingly.
    • Select any Tracking options you would like.
    • Check “Require my approval before executing”. It’s always a good idea to review your emails before they go out.
    • Check “Restart waiting period if we talk in between”. Timing is important, so make sure the email is sent when you haven’t spoken to them in awhile.


STEP 6: ATTACH THE PROGRAM

The program has been created so let’s attach it to a bucket. Attaching a bucket to a program sets a trigger – from this point forward when a contact is added to that bucket they will start on this program.

        • Scroll up to the top of the modal and click the “+Add Bucket.”
        • Choose the Past Clients (Recent) bucket.

        • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the blue “Save” button and your program is now active! When a contact enters the Past Clients (Recent) bucket, this program will automatically kick in.
