Using Plugins for Greater Efficiency

Want to bucket your contacts faster? With the plugin, you can bucket a contact with each email you send.

REQUIREMENTS:

What is a plugin and why is it helpful? The plugin is a little pop up that appears in your regular email inbox. You’ll be able to see your dashboard and also bucket contacts right from the email. Most people live out of email and we understand that (as we are those people ourselves!) so we’ve brought Contactually to where you’ll use it – your inbox.

STEP 2: BUCKET A CONTACT

  1. Open your Gmail account. (You may need to refresh your browser).
  2. Click Compose to create a new email.
  3. In the To: field, type in your own email address. Notice something? You should now see a Contactually pop up above the subject line.
  4. Click “Select Bucket” and put yourself in a bucket. Simply click the box next to the bucket(s) you want to be added to and this will translate back into your Contactually account almost immediately.

Congrats! You’ve bucketed a contact right from your Gmail inbox!

STEP 3: SEE YOUR FOLLOW UPS

The plugin also allows you to see your dashboard follow-ups right in your inbox.

  • Click on Inbox in your Gmail account.
  • You should see an orange Contactually gear at the top of your screen. Click that button.
  • plugin4

On the right-hand side of your screen, you will see the names of the people that you are supposed to follow up with today. These names will change daily or weekly (depending on your settings). They will always match the names listed on your Dashboard.

    1. Click the blue Email button next to a contact’s name and send an email!
If you want to explore more about the contact before sending an email, click the white space between the contact’s name and the Email button. This will show you a variety of options, including a snooze function and an area to document communication outside of email. You’ll also be able to see the historical emails you’ve exchanged with the contact.

    BONUS STEP: ACTIVATE A PROGRAM

You can have programs kick in automatically once a contact is bucketed. If you’re using the plugin, you can put a contact in a bucket which then can trigger a program! If you don’t know what programs to set up, we’ve designed a program for following up after an event and asking for referrals from current clients.

  • Go into your Contactually account.
  • Click on the Programs tab at the top and edit the program of your choice to make sure the program is connected to a bucket. In our example “Follow up after first meeting” program is attached to our “First time meeting” bucket.
  • plugin5.1
  • Head back into your Gmail inbox and bucket the contact accordingly. Click Save.
  • plugin5
    1. Tada! Your contact is now automatically in the program. You can always go back into program to see the update.
